Compact EDX Detector System for SEM
The Compact EDX Detector System
PNDetector's Compact EDX Detector System is a spectrometer solution designed for TableTop SEM instruments. The combination of compact housing and customized nozzle results into an optimum positioning of the detector close to the sample, enabling high throughput and fast data acquisition.
Key Features
-
The Silicon Drift Detector in the detector head offers high performance with best energy resolution down to 125 eV @ Mn-Ka, -20°C
-
Various window configurations with Planar Thin Windows or windowless configuration for high X-ray transmission at light elements
-
Integrated electron trap optimized for electron energies up to 30 keV
-
Close proximity of the detector head to the sample enables large solid angle of signal collection

Further Spectrometer Components
Digital Pulse Processor - DPP 110 generates the spectrum from the analogue output signal while being synchronized with the SEM. Four operation modes are possible:
Single Spectrum, Mapping, Fast LIST and LIST-Map Modes. Find more information here.
Integration possibility into tabletop SEM
The scheme to the right gives you an idea of the integration of the EDX Compact into a benchtop SEM. While the EDX Compact is mounted on the SEM, PNDetector's DPP acts as an intermediary between the two systems, receiving output data from the EDX Compact and a trigger signal from the SEM while communicating with a PC for data acquisition.
