Configuration and Calibration
Set acquisition parameters, optimise performance and apply calibrations for accurate, reproducible spectroscopic imaging.
The Configuration and Calibration tools in PNCamSuite provide full control of how the pnCCD based Color X-Ray Camera (CXC) operates. Users can adjust all key acquisition parameters, select camera modes, define cube properties and apply calibration routines to ensure precise energy and spatial response.
Every setting can be tuned directly through the software interface, allowing quick adaptation to beamline, laboratory or OEM instrument environments.
Key Features
-
Switch between Spectroscopic Mode and Imaging Mode:
-
Spectroscopic Mode optimised for best energy resolution and stability.
-
Imaging Mode tuned for high-flux applications with mono-energetic or narrow energy distributions.
-
-
Adjust frame rate (100 - 1,000+ fps) to balance speed and resolution.
-
Select windowing and binning modes to control field of view and data throughput.
-
Configure gain settings to optimise dynamic range and energy window.
-
Choose readout and trigger modes for synchronised or standalone acquisition.
-
Define data cube parameters, including event recognition, bin width, channel count and energy cut-offs.
-
Set up measurements, specifying frame numbers, titles, sample details and operator comments.
-
Configure scan parameters, including frame count per position, dwell time and X/Y/Z step numbers.
-
Run offset (dark) calibration to correct baseline signal before measurement.
-
Load and apply gain and correction maps to ensure accurate energy calibration under changing experimental conditions.
-
Review correction maps such as offset, noise and gain within the same workspace.
